Transcend into the void

Transcend Into The Void (2026), explores sensory stimulation through playing with light and combines it with ideas around sculpture and touch. Ergonomically shaped sculptures are suspended from the ceiling, reacting with their environment to assemble a playful, intriguing installation.

I am particularly interested in how space, light, and material can influence emotional states, and how art can create moments of calm, healing, and grounding. When assembling the works, I researched how lighting is used in architecture to change moods to design a space ideal for practicing mindfulness.

To begin introducing an audience, I organised a wellbeing art workshop at Locksbrook Campus at Bath Spa University, where viewers were asked to play with pieces of clay to create unusual shapes. These shapes were then digitally scanned and 3D-printed using a UV-reactant filament.

The viewer is invited to explore these works and the space they inhabit with their bodies, moving around the space and interacting with different elements of their senses, stimulating the mind and creating a moment in time for the audience to switch off and unwind.

These works are set to be exhibited as part of the Bath Spa University Degree Show in June 2026.
