Forest Bathing

In Forest Bathing (2025), My work explored how different forms of sensory stimulation can affect mood levels in the brain.

Through installation, painting, and experimentation with various textures and materials such as gels and thickening agents, this project adds another level of sensory stimulation to the work. Creating paintings that are three-dimensional and intriguing to touch, I invited my audience to use not just their eyes but also their hands.

Each painting flows into the next. With qualities and shapes from every work being incorporated into another, they’re reminiscent of exploring a forest floor.

Forest Bathing is a feast for all the senses. Using headspace audio, lighting and tactile textured paintings, I aimed to create a multi-sensory space with my pieces where the viewer can exist within the space and interact with their environment.

The viewers were invited to touch the works and be present in the moment, and take a breath out to explore the greenery.

The works were partially shown at the Royal Oak Art Fair, Bath as part of an artist group showcase in April 2025, then officially exhibited all works together in May 2025 at Bath Artist Studios, Bath. This was my first solo gallery exhibition.
